Strong showing from all the Ladies Teams in February

Ladies 1s first nervy win of 2018 came courtesy of a hard fought 1-0 win over bottom of the table Chelmsford. In a scrappy game Pippa Woodrow’s goal was the difference between two sides at the wrong end of the table. But the win should be good motivation for three important upcoming games.

The Ladies 2s match was called off due to an iced up pitch.

The Ladies Threes have had an extremely successful, unbeaten, start to 2018.  Of seven games, six have been won and one drawn with a total of 27 goals scored and only five conceded.  A virtually new team in September, under the inspired captaincy of Caroline O’Brien and the coaching of Tom Batchelor, the Threes have worked hard to develop their skills and work together as a team.  The incredible spirit within the team and their desire to support and encourage each other both on and off the pitch has led to their well-deserved success.

L4s have experienced a bit of everything in February: 2 away wins, a loss at home and our first draw of the season away to the league leaders Ham & West 5s. Six different scorers bagged 7 goals and our defence remains the best in the league as we sit pretty in fourth place in Middx Div 1. We have also had four different Women of the Week: Georgia Crowe, Lulu Sutton, Rhianna French and Jenny Hammond. Well played 4s keep up the good work!

February has been largely very positive for the L5’s.
Annette and Lynn took over the captaincy from Pauline and have endeavoured to build on the good work she has done.
We started with a rather inexplicable 0-1 loss against NPL 1’s (considering they only had 9 players!), but since then have returned to better form with 3 wins against Old Uxonians (2-1), Imperial Medics (4-1), and Chiswick 5’s (3-0).
Like the L4’s we are sitting at 4th in our division (2). On the whole we have a regular core of players which has helped us develop as a team and we have recently welcomed Skye and Emily W back to the 5’s having seen Hermione and Lulu progress to playing in the 4’s.
Team spirit is good and we look forward to our remaining matches of the 2017-18 season!
