We are delighted to announce that Danny Newcombe has been appointed as Head Coach for the Men’s 1st Team for the forthcoming season. Danny is very much a rising star in coaching circles and is the current Welsh men’s assistant coach.
He steps up from Assistant Coach, as our player-coach for the last two seasons, Jonty Robinson, has taken the difficult decision to leave Trent Park and join Holcombe with the opportunity to play in the EHL. We of course thank Jonty for his leadership over the last three seasons, and hope he enjoys a successful European campaign. Jonty is however staying on as the Ladies 1st team coach after a successful season which saw the team win promotion back to the Investec Women’s Hockey League East Conference.
Another change sees Jim Wallington step down as 1st XI manager after many years, and the club would like to thank Jim for the countless hours he has put in, and as host to a large number of players over the years. Jim will continue to be involved in the background, but will no longer be found pitch side.
