Southgate Hockey Club has, for most of its existence, been at the forefront of hockey in the UK, and with three European Club Championship titles, a record number of domestic titles, and some of the most famous names in the sport, has a pedigree which no British club can better.
Southgate holds the record for English cup wins
Many of the UK's most famous hockey personalities made their names at Southgate: Roger Self, David Whitaker, Bernie Cotton, Mike Corby, Richard Dodds, Sean Kerly, Steve Batchelor, James Duthie, John Shaw, David Vinson, Soma Singh and Billy Waugh.

Today's Southgate has adapted to the new scene which the English Hockey League brought in after the '88 Olympics, and has remained one of the strongest teams in the UK.
