Southgate Junior Hockey run Junior Hockey training every Sunday morning. It is split into: 6-12 years, 9.30am-11am and 12-18 years, 11.15 am-12.45pm. Term dates for 09-10 are: Autumn 13 Sept - 20 Dec Spring 3 Jan – 28 Mar Summer 9 May – 4 July We also do an after school session on a Tuesday for 8-11 year olds, 4.30-5.30pm, which runs during term times starting 8 September. The first session is free, so you can try it out. If you would like to continue, membership is £65 for the season, £40 post xmas and there is a £4 training fee each week. Just come along and try. Equipment - We recommend everyone wears shin pads and a gum shield. We have available to buy in our shop. Most players have their own sticks, but we have a supply for those that don’t. Players should wear comfortable sports gear and trainers, not studs. The coaching we offer is second to none. We have two top quality coaches who head up the coaching team. John Shaw, Southgate first team player for over 15 years, who won over 200 caps for his country, fantastic at inspiring young people. Martin Foxall, a superb coach of young hockey players who has previously coached teams to win the National U16 Championship and is widely regarded as one of the best coaches of young players in the country. We have a coaching team working under John and Martin, looking after the individual squads and an army of helpers and junior coaches. We run 10 league teams, 4 cup teams, and 5 mini U9, U10 and U12 teams Results are available on our website. You will find us at Southgate Hockey Centre Trent Park Snakes Lane (off Bramley Road) Oakwood EN4 0PS Snakes Lane is almost opposite Oakwood Tube station and is the entrance to the Middx University campus.
