M1s get back to winning ways against Old Georgians

The M1s put the disappointment of recent weeks behind them, recording a 2-0 win away at Old Georgians.

Southgate were a little slow to get going with OGs enjoying the majority of possession, their high press causing the visitors a few problems and prevented them establishing their normal pattern of plan. As the half progressed, Southgate started to enjoy more of the ball, but both teams had problems penetrating the circle and goal scoring opportunities were few and far between, the half ending 0-0.

Southgate started the second half with far more intent and started to cause the OGs defence with their high tempo. They broke the deadlock in the forty first minute with Guilio Ferrini getting his third of the season. Four minutes later they were two up, Simeon Bird finding the back board from close range. Thereafter Southgate appeared to take their foot off the gas, although OGs rarely looked like they were going to get back into the match.
