Sabres vs Snipers

Sabres W 6-1

The big rematch took place last Wednesday with top of the table teams The Snipers and Sabres vying for pole position. The previous game was a hard fought win for The Sabres, 6 weeks later The Snipers hoped to turn the screws.

They didn’t wholly succeed, with Barney Collier dominating the Sabres mid-field and Lewis Hollett marshalling the back line- The Sabres quickly found the backboards as The Snipers found themselves on the back foot from the whistle. Rob Gill hitting the backboard twice deserving of special mention.

For those watching there was a surprisingly good standard of hockey on display with plenty of end to end action- The Sabres more clinical in their finishing on the night despite the efforts of  Snipers in chief Todd Lomas, who added to his goals tally with another great strike from a PC, Brian Cade and Charles Hamilton. This week we have two games in the mid week lane to look forward- The Snipers replay bottom of the table Southgate Adelaide Griffins on Wednesday and The Sabres take on 2nd placed West Hampstead 1’s on Thursday evening.
