A game of mixed emotions with 3 points, 2 goals and 1 fractured finger.

It was a game of mixed emotions as the W1s left Horsham with 3 points, 2 goals and 1 fractured finger.
The girls got off to a great start, applying early pressure, winning PCAs and creating goal scoring opportunities. Towards the end of Q1, superstar Sof took an early free hit, skinned a few defenders and crossed the ball for Lorna Cruickshank to tap into the net. 1-0 Southgate.
In Q2, Horsham were fighting back, creating some opportunities from break away play. Late on in the quarter they won a corner which team PCD defended well with Powers’ finger taking a fair beating.
In the second half, Emma Mac won ball in the press and played a well-timed line pass to Connie Vickers, who delivered a classic Connie hit to the near post for Lorna to deflect into the goal mouth. 2-0 Gate.
In Q4, the gals in red continued to play some delicious two touch hockey but couldn’t find anymore goals.
The game finished 2-0, gate taking all 3 points and remaining TOTL. Ellie Halliday picked up a well deserved MoM for sweeping up beautifully and searching for attaching opportunities from the back.

Next week, we’re back at home to take on Spencer at 2pm and enjoy some of Kwan’s rum punch well into the evening!
