AKSHAY HEROICS SEE OF INDIAN GYM ADVANCES IN M4 PERFORMANCE IF SEASON

Coming off a loss last week and having only won 1 game during the first half of the season, the 4s looked to turn their form around in the 2nd half of the season.

We showed up with a 13-man squad to face Indian Gym at home. The first half was fairly even, although Indian Gym had far more chances. Gate remained strong and the half ended 0-0.

The second half started with a goal to the opposition. The 4s immediately retaliated by equalising with Freddie. The game then remained rather static with both sides creating chances until the second goal by Zech, where the umpire played a really good advantage, so much so, Indian Gym stopped playing, and the ball was slotted home.

After scoring the 3rd goal (by Zech, again), we looked to see out the game 3-1. However, with the amount of short corners Indian Gym received they were bound to score one and that came from a hit at the top of the D. With seconds remaining, they sent 4 players to press Southgate but the whistle blew before they could get the ball and the game remained Southgate 3-2 Indian Gym.

MoM – Akshay kept producing save after save, keeping us in the game.

DoD – David due to a terrible aerial and a green card for a reckless challenge.
