Saturday afternoon in some wet and windy conditions sae the Mens 2s playing their second home fixture of the year vs Barnes Mens 1s. Following a tough initial game, which saw Southgate the victors, we expected another battle. Southgate posted the 1st goal from a PC, with a nicely placed Jonny Maunder drag flick. The lead did not last long with Barnes equalising from a field goal. Southgate dominated the remainder of the 1st half and a piece of individual brilliance from Vivek Dongha saw him drift past 2 players into the top right hand side  of their circle, where he hammered home Southgate’s second goal. Sadly it was a game of 2 halves and Barnes came out fighting. After being unsuccessful with several short corner attempts, eventually they levelled the score 2-2. Continuing the pressure into the last few minutes, Barnes crashed a long ball into the circle, which found a Barnes player on the back post, who tapped it into the goal. Final score was 3-2.
