HARD WON POINT FOR WOMEN’S 4s AGAINST RICHMOND

Report by Sue Cameron

A cracking team line up, home match and an afternoon push back so we were lucky enough to get a full game. Only downside was a very strong Richmond team in opposition.

Shout out this week to Georgina who added pace and precision to both the forward line and midfield when asked, and to Megan who after a rough week still turned up and played hard. Thanks both.

The opposition were issued their first ( of many ) card within ten minutes and set the theme for the day – it was a hard-fought physical game. We conceded 4 short corners in the first half but outstanding pressure from Jo and Lena and clean outright saves from Olivia Rick in goal kept us firmly in the game.

At the other end we also had our chances, missing two short corners literally by inches. It’s coming ladies !!

The first half ended a very fair and respectable 0-0.

The goals came in the second half – midfield Millie, found Caroline who controlled the ball beautifully down the line to pass it into Michelle, never in doubt, back of the net. Another card to the oppo as they continued to push us hard and eventually they equalised.

The final result was 1-1 and we are happy to take a point. Next week we face top of the table Winchmore Hill and Enfield for what is sure to be another physical match – big breakfast before that one please ladies!

MVP this week – Millie – closely followed by Olivia Rick 🙂
