Ladies 1s go 3rd with hard fought win over Canterbury

This week we hosted Canterbury in a 7 goal thriller which saw us bring home another 3 points and go joint 2nd in the table💥

A shaky start saw the visitors take an early lead but we were quick to respond with a fine PC deflection by @lucesheffield. Another Canterbury goal followed but again we bounced back, this time with a well placed penalty stroke from @xhannah_kilpatrickx. We continued to enjoy a number of attacks and were rewarded with a short corner just ahead of half time. @embcx stepped forward and scored an absolute screamer from the top of the circle, putting us in front for the first time in the match.

But Canterbury weren’t finished yet and another equaliser came to make for a tense final quarter! Again we pressed ahead, threatening the goal with multiple attacks but were denied by some impressive goalkeeping. With time on the clock running out, it looked as though the points would be split. However, persistence ultimately paid off and MOM @charlotte_childs made a storming run up the pitch to find Scarlett Spavin in the D, who calmly slotted the ball home with 30 seconds on the clock!
