W5’s secure another win to move them mid table!

A chilly Saturday afternoon saw three juniors join an established Women’s Fives team for a mid-table battle away against Winchmore Hill & Enfield.

A very quick goal from junior Millie set the tone for the match and she didn’t hang around following this up with a second so by half time we were 2-0 up and looking good.

There was midfield magic from Mother / daughter duo Clare and Lucy with superb movement from Mon, Andrea and captain Bhu.

Strong defending and clean stick work at the back from Jo, Kim, Karen  Niah and Fi meant that any breaks by the oppo were quickly dealt with and our Goalie for the day Julie Bragg ( who isn’t actually a goalie!)  – produced a couple of outstanding saves to ensure a well deserved clean sheet.

We had plenty of chances again in the second half with Didi and Lilly missing out by the tightest of margins.  Sarah converted a couple of cracking short corners to seal the game – despite the best efforts of the WH&E goalie who had a contender for save of the season fully outstretched with her stick.

A true team effort and a superb 4-0 win for the ladies with Joint POMs going to Mon and Millie.

Next week we are at home to Eastcote who are just above us in the league so anticipating another tight game.
